‘Horsepower’ is the story of a middle aged, closeted man, who hides from his life as a straight-laced professional automobile critic by immersing himself in internet pornography. This works for Murray, until Harold, his eccentric gay boss, tries to help. In rejecting Harold’s advances, Murray triggers a bizarre breakdown in his life- and in his precious automobile. In the end, when all seems lost, Murray discovers help from an very unlikely source.

Based on the original short story by Irish author James Plunkett. A young 5 year-old girl in 1940's Dublin, is sent out by her desperate mother into the cold winter streets to beg for food. An Iraqi man, in 1974, goes to find help for his pregnant wife, but there is a violent demonstration in the city square, where he is arrested by soldiers. The Iraqi regime believes he's the leader of government opponents, tortures him, and imprisons him for 10 long years. After he's finally freed, he goes back to find his family and the child, but he discovers that his wife died, without medical help, on the day he was arrested. Devastated and angry, he goes to the regime’s opponents, and joins them to help free his people.
